As a photographer, I often receive inquiries from clients regarding their bookings, pricing or the process of booking an appointment. How much does a live music photographer cost in Melbourne?
Pricing depends on the length of the set, the venue, and what you need the images for. As a general guide, shorter sets and single-artist shoots start from $350, with larger shows and full-night coverage priced from there. Get in touch with the details and you'll get a straight answer, not a vague quote.
How do I lock in my date and what's the deposit?
A deposit is required to secure your date, with the remainder due before or on the day. Once the deposit is paid, your date is locked and won't be offered to anyone else. All the details are confirmed in writing before anything is finalised.
How many photos will we receive, and when/how do we get them?
The amount of photos and delivery times vary depending on a number of variables but a minimum amount will be discussed prior to booking. Everything is delivered via a private online gallery. You'll get a link to view, download, and share your images in full resolution. No chasing files over email or waiting on a USB in the post.
How long does it take to get photos back after a gig?
Edited images are turned around within 48 hours and delivered via a private online gallery. For urgent turnarounds, flag that upfront and a faster delivery can usually be arranged.
What's the difference between live music photography and band press shots?
Live music photography is shot at a gig -- it captures the energy of a performance, the crowd, the atmosphere of the venue. Press shots are planned portrait sessions, usually done outside of a show, with more control over lighting, location, and the final look. Both serve different purposes and both are available. Some artists book both around the same period to keep their promotional content consistent.
What's your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Life happens. If you need to reschedule, get in touch as early as possible and we'll do our best to find another date that works. Cancellations close to the event may forfeit the deposit depending on the circumstances, but this is always handled fairly and on a case-by-case basis.
